What happens after a SAP referral has been made?
Once the student is officially referred to SAP, the following steps will take place:
A teacher consultation is conducted to gather additional information
The child's parent/guardian is contacted
Special area teacher input forms are distributed to gather additional information
Concerns are presented to the SAP team at the next meeting
The SAP team consults and makes recommendations based upon the child's needs
A follow-up teacher consultation is held to discuss the recommended interventions
A parent conference is conducted to discuss the suggested recommendations
The suggested recommendations begin (if parental consent is given)
